Musical history was made in the summer of 1969 when a young and spirited folk musician took the stage on the opening day of the Woodstock Music & Arts Festival and mesmerized the audience with his soulful voice and driving, rhythmic guitar style. He was none other than the venerable Richie Havens. During that historic Woodstock performance and throughout his career, Havens has relied on the balanced and powerful sound of the Guild D-40. Guild is proud to now offer the D-40 in a Richie Havens signature version. This tribute to Havens features a solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Mahogany back & sides, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins, his favorite double-pickguard setup and his signature on the truss rod cover. NEW! features include Red Spruce bracing, Ebony headcap with Mother-of-Pearl logo, dual-action truss rod, a tighter top radius, slim neck heel, Gotoh® SE700 series open back tuners, and the Fishman® Matrix™ Infinity pickup system.
