The ULTRASONE DJ1 PRO headphones are geared for professional DJ applications where their sealed-back construction will help to attenuate distracting ambient noise. The accentuated upper frequencies of the DJ1 Pro may prove especially beneficial to DJs seeking to keep on top of of hi-hat & cymbal cues or track their scratch/mixing synchronicity while working multiple turntables or mixing sources. Their full bass response helps to approximate the deep bass of dance music or hip-hop production styles. The mid-range response is perhaps just slightly recessed which gives the overall sound a hint of discontinuity that serves to emphasize the lower and upper parts of the sound spectrum. The seal from external noise is good, making these excellent headphones and a good choice for club DJs.
A nice feature of the ULTRASONE DJ1 PRO is the choice of cables that come with them. A 10-foot coiled cord featuring an in-line volume control with independent left/right adjustment and a stereo/mono switch is a major plus for DJs looking to set headphone volume on the fly or for listening to the mono mix with one ear. That same feature will prove useful for listeners who suffer some hearing loss in one ear. A 10-foot straight cord is also enclosed along with an extra pair of plush speed-switch earpads. A 1/4" to 1/8" plug adapter is included.
