The HD-35 is one of the most tonally powerful of all Martin Dreadnoughts.
It combines the three-piece back of the D-35 with many of the pre-war features of the legendary herringbone D-28 including, herringbone top trim, "zig-zag" back strips and small maple bridge plate.
It also employs 1/4" top braces and hand-carved scalloped braces, a combination referred to as "high performance bracing", which makes the HD-35 the lightest braced Martin in its class.
The result is an instrument that is "loud as a canon" yet beautifully balanced with a warm bass and clear, distinct treble.
The HD-35 utilizes premium East Indian rosewood for the back and sides, Sitka spruce top, a bound ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge. The adjustable, low-profile neck is hand-carved out of genuine mahogany.
