The AM/CHA1 from Chandler Limited is an inductor based 15 band EQ which was designed to compete against classic API or Pultec based EQs which will run you thousands of dollars more by comparison. The EQ is musical and very natural sounding, mainly due to the state-variable filter, custom wound Cinemag inductors, and grain oriented silicon steel transformers. The resulting audio has smooth highs, natural mids, and thick, powerful bass. 15 Bands of Adjustable Boost/Cut The AM/CHA1 features adjustable boost and cut at 65Hz, 115Hz, 290Hz, 205Hz, 500Hz, 840Hz, 1.76kHz, 560Hz, 1.2kHz, 3.1kHz, 6.1kHz, 2.4kHz, 3.7kHz, 8.2kHz, and 15.6kHz. Each band also features variable Q to add to the flexibility of the applications along with a selectable peak or shelf for low and high frequencies.
Inductor Based Circuitry The Inductor based circuitry lends itself to a wonderful natural and musical quality that gyrator circuits cannot achieve. This design also gives the AM/CHA1 a desirable vintage character which includes smooth highs, natural mids, and thick, powerful bass.
