DescriptionTravis Barker, drummer for Blink 182 and voted Drummer of the Year for 2 years in a row in the "Drummies", has signed on with Audix to do a special microphone pack, aptly named the DP-182. The pack includes thress 3 microphones which includes one D6 kick drum mic (in silver) and two Micro-D miniature clip on mics for snare and toms.In DepthThe pack, which includes an aluminum flight and space for 6 more microphones and cable, has a retail value of $1,099. The cover sheet is a very unique fisheye shot of Travis in one of his collectible Cadillacs.Applications for the D6 are the kick drum and any other instrument requiring precise low frequency reproduction.. Description The D6 has a frequency response of 30Hz-15kHz and is characterized with a cardioid pick-up pattern. The D6 is designed to sound good in any position and it is not dependent on finding the "sweet spot" of the drum. The D6 capsule features the same legendary VLM technology that has made the D series percussion and instrument microphones very popular for today’s live stages and recording studios. The MICRO-D is a pre-polarized condenser microphone designed for many applications including drums, percussion, amplified cabinets, speech, vocals and acoustic instruments. Used in conjunction with 3 different types of specialized clips and 2 different types of interchangeable capsules the MICRO-D becomes a modular sytem that can fulfill a wide variety of creative needs. With a smooth uniform response over a frequency range of 40 Hz –20 kHz, the MICRO-D is lightweight, compact, and extremely easy to use. Housed in an aluminum ring and isolated by means of a rubber shock mount system, the stock version of the Micro-D (model ADX20-d) has a hypercardioid pick-up pattern and is capable of handling sound pressure levels up to 140 dB. The MICRO-D operates on phantom power of 9–52 Volts and is supplied with a phantom power adapter, integral Dvice clamp, cable, windscreen, and carrying pouch. Low noise electronic circuitry and balanced low impedance output allow for interference free performance even with long cable runs.
