The Perception 170 is a 1/2" small-diaphragm instrument microphone. It delivers incredibly precise sound with beautifully-detailed transients. It features AKG's new design and logo style, true condenser capsule technology, 20 dB preattenuation pad, and a cardioid pickup which minimizes off-axis sound. The diaphragm is housed in a rugged die-cast chassis.
In 2005, AKG launched the Perception microphone models 100 and 200 and it marked the beginning of a big success story. With Perception, AKG created a new series of microphones with legendary AKG sound and quality at an outstanding price/performance level. AKG's Perception Microphones are among the best in wired condenser microphones in their price point.
